LAN Administrator

Second Story is reviewing applications for a LAN Administrator who will support a team of interactive developers and designers in a small, fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure and supporting users in a mixed-platform (but primarily Windows) environment. A broad, basic knowledge of operating systems, Internet technologies, and Windows domains is required.

Our ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience in the day-to-day management of a Windows domain and servers, including Exchange servers. MCSE certification is a plus.
  • Be expert in using and configuring Windows XP and Microsoft Office (especially Outlook).
  • Have experience configuring Macintosh computers. Basic Linux command-line experience is a plus.
  • Cultivate up-to-date knowledge of PC hardware and be capable of troubleshooting hardware issues.
  • Have strong communication skills, meticulous organization, and a drive to help people solve their technical problems.
  • Demonstrate ability for proactive planning to head off fires before they erupt.
