A large mobile interactive touch screen in the lobby of the Portland Armory explores the value of preserving our architectural heritage and how sustainable building improves our world.
Through dozens of video interviews interwoven with supporting imagery, historians, architects, critics, sustainability experts, developers, anthropologists, and city planners reveal what architectural preservation adds to our community and how the Portland Armory renovation earned its Platinum LEED status. Visitors can toggle between Preservation and Sustainability themes to seek out the content related to each, which is presented in a novel grid interface that can accommodate individual browsing as well as group viewing. In addition, the installation functions as a mobile unit in which any of the other media in the Armory may be displayed and repositioned in the lobby for tours and special events.
