This experimental interactive art piece, exhibited at New York’s Postmasters Gallery, transforms Mexican Loteria cards into a media-rich interactive story.

The Loteria interactive aimed at exploring the future of interactive storytelling. With its blend of animation, video, narration, and music, Loteria created new worlds that would engage audiences with full-screen motion graphics. While immersive multimedia experiences were not yet possible on the Web at this time, Loteria foreshadowed the media-rich potential of Internet and Web authoring tools. The course and outcome of the Loteria narrative is defined by the user’s selection of each card in the interface, while an immersive animated experience illustrates the unfolding story.
